Hello there! I am an officer from the Minnesota Army National Guard and am currently serving in the Army Congressional Fellowship program.
Members of the National Guard and Reserves have the unique opportunity to have dual careers both in the military and civilian sector.
Prior to my military service, I worked in legislative affairs at the Minnesota state level. I was blessed to serve in a variety of policy and advisory positions for ten legislative sessions. Public policy is something I am truly passionate about.
Then I met my second passion; the military. I joined the Minnesota Army National Guard as a way to give back to our nation, to use my talents to lead America’s sons and daughters. Little did I know that I would receive so much more than I could ever give. I have been truly humbled, yet accomplished tasks far beyond my own expectations. The days haven’t always been sunny, but I am a better human with each passing day because of the experiences and the people it has brought into my life.
This dual passion is not something unique to me.
There are currently 96 military veterans serving in the United States Congress. This blog will highlight the 22 members who served in the Guard and Reserve components, as well as topics that affect retirees and those still serving today.
Military service. Civil service. Serving you double time.
